John Shea Federal Building (U.S. General Services Administration)
The federal government is planning to move out of an office building in Downtown Santa Rosa. This week, the U.S. General Services Administration announced plans to give up more than two-dozen buildings nationwide. That includes the John F. Shea Federal Building at Sonoma Avenue and D Street. The nearly five-decade-old building houses several federal tenants, including the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, local offices for the IRS, and the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration. About 100 federal employees and contractors are assigned to the building.
