Assemblyman Jim Wood of Healdsburg will not be running for re-election in 2024. Wood made the announcement on Friday, saying that he needed to spend more time with his family, including his mother who lives out-of-state and is experiencing health issues. California legislators can serve up to 12 years between the Assembly and Senate. When he leaves office, Wood will have spent 10 years in the Assembly. He championed health care issues while in office, and says he will continue to find a way to address the high costs of health care.
