Sonoma County Jewish Leaders Call for “Peace and Hope” in Middle East

Jewish leaders in Sonoma County are speaking out over the Israel-Hamas War. Nineteen men and women released the statement last week calling for several things including peace and hope. They are asking Hamas to release all hostages and for the US to work with Israel to minimize civilian casualties in Gaza as well as increased humanitarian aid there. They also call for “all the relevant governments, and our own, to rapidly move to the implementation of a comprehensive negotiated two-state solution.” The signees include Rabbi George Gittlemen of Congregation Shomrei Torah, Rabbi Shalom Bochner of the B’nai Israel Jewish Center, and Rabbi Irwin Keller of Congregation Ner Shalom.
