PG&E Rate Hike Vote Comes Today for Wildfire Safety Upgrades

Millions of Californians are just hours away from knowing if their gas and power bills are going up. State regulators are expected to vote today on PG&E’s request to hike prices. If they approve it, customers will pay somewhere between 25-and-31 dollars more a month, starting in January. The utility serves about 16-million people and says the money is needed to cover the cost of new underground power lines in areas at highest risk of a wildfire.
