A new therapy dog is coming to the rescue of Santa Rosa firefighters. Maverick will help relieve stress and trauma as part of the department’s behavioral health program. The one-year-old Lab mix was welcomed with open arms yesterday as the newest recruit. The fire chief says this is just what the staff needs after dealing with the 2017 North Bay wildfires and everything since. Another therapy dog will be added next year.
