Driver Sober or Get Pulled Over. Several police agencies across California are taking part in that national campaign this holiday season. Officers are spreading the message about the dangers of drunk driving. On top of that, the CHP is preparing for its two DUI crackdowns to keep everyone safe on the road. The first one begins Friday at 6 p.m. and continues until the day after Christmas. The second is for the New Year’s weekend.
Also, millions of drivers are about to be reminded not to be the “I” in DUI. That’s California’s new campaign coming to start the new year. It focuses on how nobody wants to be the one who must explain why they got behind the wheel impaired and now live with the consequences. Some of the messages will include “I thought I was fine,” “I should have known better” and “I lost everything.” The goal is to make people take personal responsibility.
