Several of Santa Rosa’s busiest roads are getting makeovers that will mean more delays for drivers as work continues or gets underway on major projects across the city in early 2024. Construction continues on new medians and pedestrian crossings on a prominent stretch of Santa Rosa Avenue south of downtown.. The upgrades are part of a $2.2 million overhaul of Santa Rosa Avenue between Sonoma and Maple avenues that calls for reducing lanes of traffic from four lanes to two lanes and adding a center-turn lane to improve traffic flow. The city will install new bike lanes to help close gaps in the bike network along Santa Rosa Avenue as part of the project.
