Santa Rosa Woman Apologizes for Fatal Hit-and-Run Incident Before Sentencing

Ahead of her sentencing, a woman who killed an 18-year-old man from Cloverdale in a hit-and-run collision is apologizing. Thirty-five-year-old Allisa Whitten recently wrote an apology letter to a Sonoma County judge, in which she says she is remorseful for her actions and for what she put the man’s family through. Whitten hit the man as he was walking with his friends in August and was convicted of several charges in November. Police suspect that she set her car on fire to hide the evidence. Her sentencing hearing had been scheduled for Friday, but was rescheduled to January 19th. Whitten’s attorney has asked the judge to give his client the minimal sentence.
