Former Shoreline Unified Superintendent Gets Jail Time for Lewd Conduct with a Child

A former superintendent for the Shoreline Unified School District has been sentenced for engaging in lewd conduct with a child. Longtime Petaluma resident Robert Patrick Raines will serve 210 days at the Marin County Jail as well as a year of probation. The 69-year-old will also have to register as a sex offender for at least 10 years. Raines was arrested in June 2021 while still superintendent at Shoreline Unified School District. A district employee claimed that Raines had inappropriately touched her child who she had brought in to work during the pandemic.
