An illegal handgun has been recovered by the Santa Rosa Gang Crimes Team. Yesterday afternoon, officers searched a property on the 1600 block of Elmwood Terrace in Santa Rosa. They located a 9mm handgun loaded with a 30-round magazine. Near the firearm was an illegal “Glock Switch.” The switch can be attached to the gun’s slide, making the handgun a fully automatic weapon. Additional ammunition and gang paraphernalia were also found. Matteo Ramirez-Sandoval, a 19-year-old resident of Santa Rosa, was contacted and detained at another location. He was arrested and booked at the Sonoma County Jail for charges related to the illegal weapon.
