Central Sonoma County will have a new ambulance service provider starting tomorrow. The Sonoma County Fire District is taking over for American Medical Response, which was known locally as Sonoma Life Support. AMR had been the region’s ambulance service provider for 30 years. The Sonoma County Fire District will be on an exclusive five-year contract with the county. A new fleet of ambulances with red and white trim will be operated by the fire district’s subcontractor, Medic Ambulance.
