Sonoma County Seeking Applicants New Committee for Elderly and Disabled

How can we better serve the elderly and the disabled? The Sonoma County Human Services Department is accepting applications to serve on a new advisory committee that will draft an equity-focused plan to address the unmet needs of the elderly and people with disabilities in Santa Rosa and the Sonoma Valley, particularly those who are Black, Indigenous and people of color. The advisory committee will lead the development of a Local Aging and Disability Action Plan for Santa Rosa and the Sonoma Valley. Its findings will serve as a guide in developing Age Friendly plans for the two areas, similar to proposals that have been created by the cities of Healdsburg and Petaluma.

To apply for a position on the advisory committee and obtain more information, go to https://sonomacounty.ca.gov/health-and-human-services/human-services/older-adults-people-with-disabilities/boards-government-vendors/local-aging-and-disability-action-plan or call Kathleen Cortez at the Area Agency on Aging at (707) 565-5903.
