Five people have been arrested trying to steal merchandise at a Walmart in American Canyon. Last Wednesday afternoon, police were called to the store due to a shoplifting attempt and spotted a man walking out of the Walmart with a cart of stolen items. He was arrested after a short chase and then police arrested his getaway driver in the suspect’s van. Police spotted another vehicle that was used in previous thefts in the parking lot. After Walmart employees told them that the two women inside just left the store with stolen goods, police arrested the pair. A third woman was arrested when she arrived at the scene for an unrelated outstanding felony warrant out of Contra Costa County.
