A 28-year-old Santa Rosa man has been sentenced for sex trafficking of a minor along with drug and firearm charges. Pedro Lopez-Plascencia has been given a 12-year prison sentence for human trafficking of a minor, encouraging a minor to engage in prostitution, possession of controlled substances for sales, possession of a firearm, and a misdemeanor charge of possession of child sexual abuse material. Plascencia will also have to register as a sex offender for life. In November of 2021, he communicated with a 14-year-old girl online, picked her up, took her to a hotel, and gave her drugs and alcohol. Within a few days, he began prostituting her to other men. Rohnert Park Police found her after seeing the prostitution advertisements that Plascencia posted online with pictures of the girl. Plascencia was arrested in January of 2022.
