Storms Coming Back to the North Bay This Weekend

The North Bay is getting ready for back-to-back powerful storms forecast to bring heavy rain between Saturday and Tuesday. The National Weather Service says parts of the region could see up to six inches of rain by the time the storms clear out. The ground is already saturated after a storm overnight Wednesday into Thursday, which brought a little less than an inch of rain to Santa Rosa. The next storms are expected to bring wind gusts of up to 30-miles-per-hour to inland areas and up to 40-miles-per-hour along the coast.

The incoming storms are expected to bring dangerous waves to the North Bay coast. The National Weather Service has issued a high surf advisory that will be in effect from ten o’clock tomorrow morning to four o’clock Sunday afternoon. During that period, wave heights could reach 22 feet, with the potential to reach up to 28 feet in some areas. Officials are urging people to stay off rocks, jetties, and beaches, or the may get pulled into the ocean and swept away.
