The jobs of 30 staff members in the Bellevue Union School District are safe for now. The tiny district has about 16-hundred students and is located in southeast Santa Rosa. On Tuesday night, the district’s board voted to delay a vote to potentially cut those 30 positions amid declines in state funding. The employees that are in jeopardy of losing their jobs work at four elementary schools. They include classified employees like literacy professionals, teacher’s aides and family engagement facilitators, as well as certified staff like teachers on special assignment. If the school board approves the proposal, the positions would be eliminated at the end of the current school year.
