Broken cigarettes and tobacco. Quit smoking now
A North Bay Assemblyman is taking more action on flavored tobacco products. Assemblyman Jim Wood has introduced a bill to improve implementation of current law that bans flavored tobacco products in California. Despite the retail sale prohibition in current law, flavored tobacco products continue to be sold in California. The bill, AB 3218, would do several things to fix this including a create a publicly available list of permissible products, penalize distributors that sell products not appearing on the list, and clarify that products with distinguishable cooling or numbing sensations are covered by defining “characterizing flavor.” The bill is sponsored by California Attorney General Rob Bonta and the principal coauthor is Assembly Speaker Robert Rivas.
