Recology Employee Hurt After Getting Trapped in Garbage Truck in Forestville

A Recology employee is expected to survive his injuries after getting stuck in the chute of a garbage compacting truck in Forestville. The incident, which happened Monday morning, was detailed by the Sonoma County Fire District on Wednesday. Authorities say the worker got stuck in the open compartment of a split-body side-loader truck he had been operating. He was trapped in an area where trash and compost are dumped and compacted. The man, who has moderate injuries, was rescued by firefighters after people in the area heard him yelling for help.
