Sonoma native Ada Limón, the U.S. poet laureate, is one of the 12 Women of the Year by Time Magazine.
Limón’s poem “In Praise of Mystery: A Poem for Europa” will be engraved inside the Europa Clipper, a spacecraft set to launch on Oct. 10 and begin orbiting Jupiter by 2030. Last spring, Limón was granted a two-year second term as U.S. poet laureate. Other women of the year listed by Time Magazine include director Greta Gerwig, tennis pro Coco Gauff, and actor Taraji P. Henson.
