Sonoma County Supervisors have approved contracts to distribute emergency financial assistance during declared emergencies. Community Organizations Active in Disasters and the Child Parent Institute will be able to distribute up to $550,000 each in disaster emergency financial assistance. The total amount could be amended up to $2 million should state or federal funds be made available. The contracts with the two community-based organizations expire at the end of 2027. Individuals impacted by emergency events, if eligible, can receive a minimum of $500, and a maximum of $2,000.
