Santa Rosa City Schools is planning to potentially lay off dozens of employees in the coming weeks. Today, the school board will review a resolution that calls for the elimination of about 85 positions. But, it’s not clear exactly which employees or how many employees would be laid off. Superintendent Anna Trunnell says the cuts are necessary for the district to meet legal budget requirements following a shortfall in expected revenue. Impacted staff will receive preliminary notices in the next two weeks. Four of the positions on the chopping block are administrative.
