One of the men on trial after a deadly shooting in the parking lot of a bar in Santa Rosa claims he tried to keep the peace between the victim and his co-defendant. Thirty-one-year-old Fogatia Fuiava was called to the witness stand on Monday, as the defense’s first witness. He says the victim, 27-year-old Kenneth McDaniel, was gunned down outside the Whiskey Tip Bar in September of 2021 after refusing his request to avoid confrontation. Fuiava says he fired his gun in self-defense. Both defendants are on trial for murder.
