A North Bay man is fuming after the state canceled his electric vehicle rebate, because he filed for it one day early. Johnathan Seminoff of Petaluma tells KABC-TV, he was counting on that 75-hundred dollar rebate to help pay for his Tesla Model 3. Seminoff just found out that the state canceled his rebate, without contacting him, because he applied for it one day early. The state funded rebate program created to spur more purchases of electric vehicles ran out of money last fall while people were still applying. Seminoff says he’s one of potentially thousands of people who had their rebate canceled after it was promised to them. The California Air Resources Board says the agency can’t make exceptions, even for a small mistake.
