The remainder of the stranded ship near Bodega Bay is being cut down. Salvage teams are working on disassembling the Aleutian Storm which will soon hopefully have Salmon Creek Beach open to the public once more. Harsh weather and rough surfs are slowing the salvage operation as crews have to synchronize their efforts with tides that come in and out twice a day. The 57-ton boat got stuck on February 9th with several previous efforts to remove it being unsuccessful. The Aleutian Storm has since been hit hard by stormy weather which has destroyed much of the ship leaving just the hull.
