Two men died late Sunday after the sports car they were in crashed into a private backyard swimming pool in Lake County. The two were pronounced dead when medical personnel arrived at the scene in Nice, California. The driver, a 39-year-old, was driving north on Butte Street at about 10:20 p.m. when the car traveled over an embankment leading into a property and overturned in a private pool. The driver and a 34-year-old passenger from Upper Lake were not wearing their seat belts. No one else was injured, and authorities suspect alcohol was involved. CHP-Clear Lake is handling the investigation.
