The Hearn Avenue Overpass will be replaced for about $44 million. On April 15, work will finally be underway to widen and upgrade the overpass between busy Corby and Santa Rosa avenues, improving traffic flow. Crews have already removed trees where they plan to begin constructing a new bridge structure on the north edge of the overpass. The project is being funded by a mix of local and state dollars, including $17 million generated locally for street improvement projects under a countywide quarter-cent sales tax first approved by voters in 2004 and renewed in 2020.
