Scene of female pedestrian's death in downtown Santa Rosa 3-27-24 (Santa Rosa Police)
A woman is dead after she was hit by a pickup truck near Downtown Santa Rosa. The woman was hit at 6:15 Tuesday morning, before the sun was up. The driver of the truck, identified as a 21-year-old Sonoma County resident, stayed on scene and cooperated with police. Investigators say the person did not appear to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Speed also does not appear to have been a factor. The woman was hit while walking in a crosswalk on College Avenue near Orchard Street. She did not activate the flashing beacon.
