The Sonoma County Administrator will soon become the County Executive. Supervisors have approved changes to be made for the county administrator role including a change of title and increased oversight power. That means the county executive, Christina Rivera, will appoint and supervise the directors of 11 departments as well as supervise the directors of five departments who are appointed by the Board or other entities. Chair of the Board of Supervisors David Rabbitt said in a press release, quote, “this change will advance our efforts to ensure county government is efficient, effective, accountable and fiscally responsible.” The Board will meet for a final review of the change on April 16th.
