A Ukiah bicyclist had to be flown to the hospital after getting hit by an SUV. On Sunday evening, a 20-year-old female cyclist was riding south on Sanford Ranch Road at the same time a man driving a Cadillac Escalade was headed west on Talmage Road. At the T-shaped intersection of the two roads, the cyclist turned westbound onto Talmage without stopping. The SUV was going up to 40 mph and couldn’t brake in time and swerved to try to avoid the woman but still hit her. The man called 911 and the woman was flown to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with major injuries. CHP says drugs or alcohol were not a factor in the crash.
