The water in Lake Berryessa is still on the verge of flowing into its unique spillway, known as the ‘Glory Hole.’ It’s now just tenths of an inch away. But, the spectacle may not happen. Solano County Water Agency General Manager Chris Lee says officials are allowing water to pass through the bottom of Monticello Dam and into a lower creek to account for the inflow of water into the lake. And, even though there is a chance of rain today, it’s not expected to be enough to push the lake level high enough to reach the spillway. The lake has been close to reaching the Glory Hole since heavy rains in mid-February. The spillway has not overflowed since 2019.
