A new study finds the Bay Area’s dedication to electric vehicles is having a positive aspect on the region’s carbon footprint. The study out of U.C. Berkeley found that the Bay Area saw a carbon-emissions reduction of just under two percent between the years 2018 and 2022. Scientists attribute that decrease to the large number of electric vehicles that are being used around the Bay Area. They say the decrease is small but steady and is a good start as California as a whole looks to eliminate its carbon footprint by the year 2045.
