Celebrity chef Guy Fieri will be the honorary mayor of his hometown one day every year. Last month, the Ferndale City Council announced that April 5th will be known annually as “Guy Fieri Day” and that the celebrity chef will be the honorary mayor on that day every year. Last Friday, Guy showed up for a 30-minute council meeting to get his honor and even presided over the council for a brief time. Fieri and the council did hear some public comment. Afterwards, he declared Ferndale has a “pothole issue” and proposed a fundraiser to fix the roads.
