A Rohnert Park officer managed to pull a driver out of their overturned vehicle. On April 4th, the officer was on route to training when he saw an overturned vehicle on Highway 12 near Interstate 80. The officer used his cell phone to call CHP for emergency support. With only a few bystanders present and no other emergency services on-site, the officer realized that the unresponsive driver was trapped and required urgent removal. The officer broke the car window, cut the seatbelt, and with the help of bystanders, removed the driver to provide immediate medical care until fire and medical crews arrived. The driver was hospitalized with moderate injuries.
