One person has died and four people are injured after a multi-vehicle crash just east of Petaluma. Tuesday afternoon, a Toyota Camry was traveling northbound on Lakeville Highway and was approaching stopped traffic. For unknown reasons, the 22-year-old driver failed to slow down and swerved to the left to try to avoid hitting the vehicle in front of him. However, he hit the rear of Nissan compact and the Camry overturned in the southbound lane and was then hit head on by a Chevy Silverado. The Camry driver suffered fatal injuries. Meanwhile, the driver and three passengers of the Nissan were transported to Petaluma Valley Hospital with minor injuries. The Nissan was pushed forward and collided into the rear of a Ford Fusion but no injuries were reported in that vehicle nor the Silverado.
