Former MLB Player Arthur Lawrence Schallock of Sonoma Turns 100 on April 25th

Arthur Lawrence Schallock, the oldest living former Major League Baseball player, will celebrate his 100th birthday on April 25th in Sonoma. He was called up to play for the New York Yankees in the major leagues in 1951, and he briefly replaced future Hall of Famer Mickey Mantle on the New York Yankees roster. He went on to earn three World Series rings as a member of the Yankees. Cogir Assisted Living and Memory Care in Sonoma, where he began living in 2023, will celebrate his 100th birthday. The public is invited to the event, which will take place from 2 to 5 p.m. at Cogir.
