Many Counties in California (Including Sonoma) Get Failing Grade for Air Pollution

Millions of Californians are breathing in dirty air. That likely doesn’t surprise many, but this might. Out of the 30 counties across the nation to get a failing grade for pollution, 22 of them are right here in the state, including Sonoma County. A new report by the American Lung Association breaks it down by the worst cities. Number one is again Bakersfield, a major site of oil and gas production as well as agriculture. Visalia is second, followed by the Fresno-Madera-Hanford area. Others in the top ten include the Bay Area of San Francisco, San Jose and Oakland coming in fourth, with Los Angeles and Long Beach next and then Sacramento.
