Bay Area drivers are bracing for what could be a travel nightmare today. This first day of the month marks May Day, when workers typically take a stand for labor rights. There are dozens of protests scheduled here, but this year many are also against the war between Israel and Hamas. At least four events are planned in San Francisco. In Santa Rosa, a march and protest is planned for immigrant and worker rights. Beginning at 3 PM, protesters will start with a rally at the sheriff’s office then march down to the Board of Supervisors and at 4pm they will march along Mendocino Avenue to Courthouse Square for a rally with music and speakers at 5:30pm. Other protests are expected in Oakland and San Jose.
