Helicopter from Pacific Gas and Electric
From early April through mid-May, PG&E crews will survey electrical equipment, and nearby vegetation, to spot and prevent potential wildfire risk throughout Marin and Sonoma Counties. Helicopters equipped with Light Detection and Ranging sensors will evaluate PG&E powerlines and adjacent trees. Flights in Sonoma County started in early April and will continue through early May. You may see helicopters flying in many parts of Sonoma County, including Santa Rosa, Sebastopol, Rohnert Park, Forestville, Penngrove, Bodega Bay and Monte Rio.
