A 25-year-old horse with arthritis in Forestville has been rescued. About two weeks ago, Ember was found on the ground, struggling to regain her footing, and losing feeling in her legs. It’s thought she was like this for at least half a day. Suzy Berry, founder and owner of Heart of Gold Sanctuary in Forestville, called local firefighters who were able to lift Ember up using pullies and a large tripod and leave her standing until she regained strength in her legs nearly an hour later. The Press Democrat reports that Ember is now able to move around on her own.
