Two People Arrested for Attempted Murder and Robbery in Leggett

A man and woman are in Mendocino County Jail on suspicion of attempted murder and robbery. Fifty-nine-year-old Gregory Mark Cox and 41-year-old Amanda Dee Chapman were arrested Saturday morning following an alleged break-in that happened in Leggett late Friday. Police say the pair had broken into a home, when two residents walked inside. Chapman pulled a gun on one of the victims, who was shot in the hand during a struggle. Chapman and Cox got away in a pickup truck, which was spotted by a deputy the next morning. They were arrested after a short vehicle pursuit and foot chase about 45 miles south in Willits.
