Two Sunday Night Traffic Stops in Santa Rosa Lead to Firearm Arrests

Santa Rosa police recovered two firearms during two different traffic stops on Sunday night. First, at around 8 PM, an officer pulled over a car for speeding and unreadable registration tabs. During the stop, one of the passengers, 19-year-old Rico Hermosillo-Lozano, admitted to having a handgun which was equipped with a “Glock switch” making it fully automatic. Lozano was arrested and charged with four firearm related crimes. Then at 11 PM, an officer stopped a truck with broken tail lights and found the driver, 44-year-old Anderson resident Justin Jones, had a warrant for his arrest out of Tehama County for burglary. He was detained and inside the truck, officers found a loaded handgun behind the driver’s side door panel. Jones was also charged with four firearm related crimes.
