A man involved in a multi-county chase and Solano County highway standoff has died almost two weeks after he shot himself. The Solano County District Attorney’s Office said the man was a 40-year-old resident of Rohnert Park. On May 3rd, a woman reported that someone fired a shot at her vehicle on southbound 101 near Windsor. CHP said the man led officers on a chase starting at Rohnert Park and spanning three Bay Area counties. The chase eventually ended along I-80 around 3:30 p.m. Both directions of I-80 were shut down as law enforcement agencies tried for hours to get the man out of the vehicle. At 6:30 p.m. the man shot himself, and he was taken to the hospital.
