Sonoma State University President Mike Lee Announces Retirement in Midst of Wild Week

Sonoma State University President Mike Lee is retiring after a controversial week. California State University Chancellor Mildred García made the announcement late Thursday. In a short statement, Garcia thanked Lee for his service to the CSU system and wished him and family well. Garcia added “I will continue to work with Acting President Nathan Evans and our Board of Trustees leadership during this transitional period. Additional information will be forthcoming.” Lee was placed on administrative leave on Wednesday after agreeing to several terms with pro-Palestinian protesters at SSU. Lee has taken full ownership of his actions.
