Santa Rosa Police announced an increase in the number of women in local law enforcement. The department now has 25 female officers, the highest number in an over 150-year history. In fact, this is more than double the number of female officers from only 4 years ago. The increase reflects SRPD’s participation in the nationwide “30×30 Initiative” which seeks to increase the representation of women in law enforcement recruit classes to 30-percent by the year 2030. The initiative also fosters policies and culture that intentionally support the success of qualified female officers throughout their careers.
