In the North Bay, Health and wellness professionals say they re feeling disheartened after they say they were scammed by a mysterious man promoting a planned Fitness Festival in Santa Rosa…that didn’t exist. NorCal Fit Fest was scheduled for May 25th at the Veteran’s Memorial Building. Sonoma County Health and wellness professionals like Tristan St. Germain were contacted through social media in January by a man named Jon, asking if they would participate, and pay between $90 and $120 thru a Pay Pal account for a booth at the festival. Tristan said it seemed legitimate, there was an event website and posts on Instagram. but when it came time to meet Jon, and secure the event space last month. “He no showed,” said St. Germain. Police are now investigating and they confirm Fit Fest isn’t happening.
