Elizabeth Schenk (Mendocino County Sheriff)
A 70-year-old woman who vanished earlier this week while hiking near Fort Bragg has been found alive. Elizabeth Schenk of Oakland was found yesterday afternoon by a search party in a heavily wooded area north of the city. She is in stable condition with only minor cuts and scrapes after spending two nights and nearly three days in the wilderness. She was taken to a local hospital for further evaluation. Schenk disappeared Tuesday morning while hiking on a logging road near Bruhel Point Road.
