Santa Rosa officially has an ordinance banning the sale of e-cigarettes and flavored tobacco products. It follows a vote by the city council earlier this week. Retailers will need a license to sell tobacco products and must follow several new rules banning the sale of flavored tobacco products and electronic tobacco smoking devices. Santa Rosa will also be capping its number of retailers allowed to sell tobacco products. Retailers caught not following the rules could face fines or even lose their license. The council vote was 4 to 1, with Mayor Natalie Rogers the lone voice against the measure, saying she was concerned that this was not fair to local retailers. Santa Rosa was the largest city in Sonoma County without such an ordinance, which is meant to keep kids from vaping.
