A Hidden Valley Elementary School teacher has been suspended after being accused of hitting a student. The Press Democrat reports that a parent called Santa Rosa police on May 3rd to say a 3rd grade teacher had hit her child twice while in class. That teacher, who is unnamed, has been put on leave pending an investigation. Despite the accusations, about forty people, including teachers and parents, protested the teacher’s suspension and advocated for more resources. As a result, the substitute teacher for the class in question has gotten an aide for the rest of the school year which ends on June 6th.
