More Pickleball Courts Could be Coming to Santa Rosa Parks

More pickleball courts could be coming to Santa Rosa parks. Parks staff are proposing to redesign tennis courts at Howarth Memorial Park and Galvin Community Park into new pickleball courts. The staff recommends converting the two southernmost tennis courts at Howarth Park into six pickleball courts while existing pickleball courts on the north end of the facility would be resurfaced and restored to a tennis court. As for Galvin Park in Bennett Valley, staff would like to maintain most of the 11 tennis courts and even build two new courts. However, they would like to take three tennis courts on the south end and a junior tennis court and convert them into 12 pickleball courts. These proposals will be discussed at a Board of Community Services meeting on June 26th at Finley Community Center.
