New Solar Panels at Sonoma County Airport (County of Sonoma and Forefront Power)
The main runway at Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport is fixed, at least for now. Early Wednesday morning, a team of construction and engineering crews finished emergency repairs to the north end of the runway, where holes had been found on Tuesday night. It was the third round of emergency repairs to that part of the runway in six days. Each repair prompted a total overnight shutdown of the runway. Airport officials say a failing culvert underneath the air strip is causing pavement to shift and fall apart.
